Her book is also available in the B& N store and Kobo!

Is love stronger than race?

The world is changing as we know it, the human race is dwindling, but so are the angels. In order to preserve their bloodlines they have bred with humans, creating a new race called Nephilim. But there is one race that is more endangered than humans or Seraphim, Archangels.
As most people believe the Archangels have become extinct, rumours surface of a Legend; that a baby was born out of flame, the offspring of an archangel.

Dyston Blackbell is tasked to find and protect this child. He sends her strange dreams in hope that she will find him. When he discovers that she has enrolled at his family’s angel academy in Melbourne, he will do anything to protect Scarlett. But when he finds himself falling for her the Heavenly realm rejects him thus turning his wings black.

But 21-year-old Scarlett Porter realises that being half Archangel has some advantages. She has developed a unique trait, one that marks her as an Archangel. Will she keep it to herself or use it to fight back?

When an old enemy resurfaces, The Lucifites, Scarlett discovers that Dyston’s older brother Lakyn is at the helm of their sinister plans; to destroy the Nephilim race or use Scarlett for their own selfish purposes when they find out who she really is.

And when Lakyn discovers that Scarlett had only seduced him to rescue Dyston from his prison in the Realm of Light, it sends him on a journey of self-discovery and destruction. One that sees him venturing farther off course than his father would like. Will he choose a new life of love or his old life of darkness?

Vampyre Kisses is an enthralling story about a young woman named Faith, who was content with her life, but deep down craved more excitement. Then a mysterious man named Trent enters her life and everything changes. Surprising to Faith, Trent is a green-eyed vampire from Ireland. She is even more surprised to find out that she is a witch, and the last of her kind.

Faith finds out that she is destined to restore her witch line and becomes more powerful as she gains confidence and knowledge, but danger lurks everywhere. Especially when unknown assailants steal the most important gems from the vampire master and werewolf royalty.

Now surrounded by a world full of mystifying vampires and werewolves, can Faith gain enough power to help her friends and rescue the stolen gems?

Vampyre Kisses Excerpt
By: Elizabeth J. Kolodziej

After a half hour, I decided to sit down for a minute to catch my breath. I ordered
a shot and a water to get some liquid into me, and searched around for Mac. He wasn’t
visible anywhere over the mass of bobbing heads and twisting bodies. As I continued
to look around, I noticed two men at a corner table observing the dancers. One of the
men must have felt my eyes on him, because he turned to look at me. He gave me a half
smile and got out of his seat to walk over to my table. A slower-paced song with a good
beat came on.

I looked up into his pale green eyes and he offered his hand. I took it, and
he led me to the dance floor. He put his strong hands on my back and we moved to the
music. His curly dark reddish-brown hair fell past his ears and framed his flawless oval
face, complemented by deep-set round eyes and a pointed nose. He licked his thick lips
and showed his perfect white teeth with a small smile. With my heels on, our eyes met
perfectly opposite one another. His silk black shirt swayed back and forth as we moved.
A few buttons were undone to show his smooth chest. Leather pants hung on his hips
that pressed against my bare thighs at different points when we moved. We stared at
each other during each song that played; I felt like a feather floating in the warm brisk
air.

With a tap on my shoulder, I turned around to find Mac staring at me, then at the
man. He put his lips to my ear: “I need to talk to you for a sec.” I turned back to the man
and put one finger up to let him know I would be right back. He nodded, and I turned to
follow Mac off the dance floor.

“That man is bad news,” he said, his lips next to my ear.

Now onto my review....

Vampyre Kisses review

I just love variations to the vampire/ werewolf storytelling theme and in Elizabeth Kolodziej’s story you not only get a new variation to the mythical creatures, you also get a few more added to the bunch! Not only is there vampires and werewolves, you also have witches, goddesses, shape shifters and more. Something I really liked about this book and in the way the author connected them clicked perfectly in place and worked well with each another.
In stories the most important thing is characters you can really connect with and I could with the characters in Vampyre Kisses. I really liked Faith, her personality, her spirit and her determination.  As for Trent, I can imagine how good looking he is and loved his perspective of things. He was a gentleman and I really liked relationship between him and Faith. Then there is Morgan, who is one tough vampire and Mac, who is so loveable and huggable!
Inside the story of Vampyre Kisses, I can promise you, you will not know how it will unfold. Predictablity is not a word I would even think to use in describing this tale. There were twists that kept me intrigued and interactions/ perspectives that meshed very well together. Inside this story, you not only get Faiths side of the story, you also get Trent’s and Morgan’s. Sometimes when authors tell their stories jumping between perspectives, it can leave the reader confused at times, but not so with this book. I found the transitions to be perfectly placed and never felt lost at all. I also believe these transfers added to the story, making it even better.
I just loved Oran…too cute! Who wouldn’t want a pet like him!
As for the ending, I must agree with some of the other readers, I think the battle should have played out a little more, but…BUT! I also wasn’t disappointed on how it did play out. I was left content with the outcome and drooling for the continuation in which I was privy to a sneak peek and WOW! Nothing predictable there, in fact much unexpected and now I am so ready to dive into the next book of this series.
All in all, I say a job well done author Elizabeth Kolodzej…this gal definitely did her research and gave us a story worthy of a five star review.

Thanks for the drop by and do snatch up yourself a copy of this incredible book, its a great deal!

Zombies Invade London!!!

Extra, extra, read all about it: Zombies Invade London!
It has been thirty years since the Voodoo Queen plagued England with the zombie disease that has since swept the world. Humans have had to learn to function around them while the dead kill innocent people. The government continues its efforts to try to contain and find a cure for the problem.
However, by the cover of night, a man who was born half zombie and half human known only as Aeron, roams the streets in search of protecting the upright citizens from the flesh eating creatures. One foggy evening Lucille Knight becomes one of these people, Aeron’s interest is instantly peeked. A woman who gets upset with him for saving her life? What is wrong with her?
But Aeron will have a little competition when Miss. Knight meets Lord Garrett Ashdown, the son of Earl Thomas or a man better known as: The Inventor. A man who builds automatons for the direct purpose of killing zombies; mysteriously understanding their blood and the way they sense humans.
Lucy is taken by the masked man known as Aeron and the equally mysterious Lord Garrett. With one concealing his true identity and the other hiding a ghastly secret, she doesn’t know which one is less dangerous. What secrets do Aeron and Garrett keep from Lucy? Will Miss. Knight be able to be with the man she chooses when she learns the awful truth?
It is still unclear. And the current edition isn’t spilling the beans just yet…

A Hard Act to Follow Blog Tour via I'm A Reader, Not a Writer...

A Hard Act to Follow Book Blast
a hard act to follow.jpg

Thanks for the drop by, it's a pleasure to be a stop on this blog tour and below I would like to share with you an Exerpt from the book A Hard Act to Follow:

“How would you like to meet Carson?” “Carson who?”
“Johnny, you jerk.”
“Like on The Tonight Show?”
“The same.”
“Look Arthur, I’m up to my neck in contracts. I’m not much interested in padding the
audience at some taping.”
“No, my friend, nothing like that. How would you like to go up to his offices at NBC and
talk to the guy?”
Actually I thought maybe Arthur was playing some kind of joke, but that really wasn’t his
style. “Why would anyone like Johnny Carson want to meet me?”
“You’re a lawyer, aren’t you?”Arthur then explained that Mr. Car- son and his wife were
going through a rough patch in their marriage. ‘‘I told Johnny that you were just the man
who could help.’’
‘‘That’s ridiculous,’’ I said. ‘Carson could have every high-priced matrimonial attorney in
Manhattan standing in his office at the snap of a finger. He’ll take one look at me and
throw us both out.”
“You’d be surprised,’’ Arthur said. ‘‘Carson doesn’t trust lawyers— not any he’s met,
anyway. I convinced him that you’re a straight shooter and the two of you should talk.”
Skeptical but excited, I agreed to a meeting with Arthur and Johnny the next day. I
couldn’t wait to tell my bosses.
It was almost comic to see the surprise on their faces. ‘‘Why you?’’ Kushnick asked
out loud, booming the obvious question. But they had both been in entertainment long
enough to know what a funny business it was. Every year people showed up out of
nowhere to be- come major stars, and they brought all sorts of peculiar ideas with
them. ‘‘Enjoy yourself,’’ Howard Beldock advised in his gravelly voice. ‘‘Just don’t be too
disappointed if nothing happens.’’

"A Hard Act to Follow," is a non-fiction literary account of Henry Bushkin's tenure as Johnny Carson's lawyer, business partner, and friend.  The book gives genuine insight into the 'Carson behind Johnny' with candid personal vignettes about the two, during the rollicking years when Johnny was the undisputed king of television.  This is an engaging, eye-opening, anecdote-packed story about a young lawyer and his client, one of the biggest celebrities in the country.  This funny, unfiltered account gives readers a look at the Johnny Carson that none but a select few really knew.

What readers had to say:

"The book is full of tough love, humor, cultural history, sadness, humor, love, loss, well I guess I am saying it is full of life." ~Rupert Garcia

" Henry's portrayal of Johnny was spot on. I highly recommend this book which is the closest the reader will ever get to know the real Carson." ~ Ed Weinberger, former Tonight Show writer and Producer for Carson Productions

"A beautifully easy read that pulls you in to an effortless journey through Johnny Carson’s effortful life. The glamour  the fellow celebrities behind the curtain, the loyalties, and the betrayals. It certainly provides new insight on decisions and the lives that are behind the scenes." ~Kathy Davis, Kathy Takes on Books

""I have read this book and it is FAB! If you love reading about celebrities, this is awesome. It is also a great memoir as well. I am a huge memoir fan so this one was a real treat and one of the best I have read in this genre in a long time" ~Mary,  Bookhounds Blog

"Bushkin's easy, unpretentious style allows the reader to be a fly on the wall as this inside story plays out in the rarified air on which Johnny thrived. "A HARD ACT TO FOLLOW" is a must read whether you grew up on Johnny or never heard of him. And then there are the supporting characters -- from the Rat Pack to Johnny's Ice Queen mother ranging around the pages disturbing the peace. I read it straight through in 90 minutes and was left wanting more."  ~Sandy Ignon, Screenwriter (RANSOM).

"The tales are epic in nature and stretch from the first page to the last. “A Hard Act to Follow” is an honest appraisal of Carson and shows his dark side. In this, Bushkin strikes the right blend of salacious detail with an appropriate dose of discretion. Sure, you’ll learn more detail about Carson’s marriages-- in a tasteful way.  Bushkin will leave you wanting more. Great books will do that." ~Barry Mordis, Senior VP at Merryl-Lynch

From the author:
This series was based on a dream I had of a teenage girl named Sam who could read minds and was rented out by an organization called Rent-A-Kid. I thought it would be a short
story, so I penned it quickly before I planned on launching The Reluctant Familiar and The Chronicles of Corinne (Death by Destiny, Myths of Magic and Paths to Power). Boy was I wrong.
What started as a short story, ended as an entire trilogy. Not only that, but come 2013 I have two more potential trilogies to write based on the Forbidden world. This series explores the value of a human life and how we often see each other as tools to be used. There are ethical questions
raised as Sam and Drake struggle to understand their powers and each other. It's also a love story, albeit unconventional.

What is it about someone that causes us to follow in love with them? Do we have to be physically present with someone to know it's love? Sam and Drake explore the boundaries of love,
loss, pain and morality in this series. These are fast-paced books that are part paranormal/sci-fi, part
thriller and part romance. I look forward to hearing what you think about each book as you work your way through the series.

I'm especially excited to offer this omnibus edition that gives you all three books in one at a great discount, plus gives you extra surprise content. Thank you so much for taking an interested in
the Forbidden world that has commanded my time and attention for so long. May you root for Sam, Drake, Luke, Lucy and their friends as much as I did while writing them.

QUESTION:

If you could have any para-power, what would you choose?
I would love to have super strength. Some one cut you off in line to pick up your kid  at school, simply get out, pick up the car and move them :0) Te he...

Forbidden Trilogy Omnibus Edition by Author Kimberly Kinrade

Forbidden Trilogy- Forbidden Mind, Forbidden Fire, Forbidden Life

Forbidden Trilogy

The Forbidden Trilogy Omnibus Edition has the three seperate books- Forbidden Mind, Forbidden Fire & Forbidden Life combined together as well as a lot of amazing extra content in the end. In depth questions brought up about each book, some top secret profiles of each paranormal character- really cool! Character interviews and Kimberly Kinrade's interview about the entire series revealing other projects in the works revolving around the Forbidden realm.
Click the book to purchase now.

Forbidden Mind-

Sam is almost eighteen and lives in a facility she calls Rent- A -Kid, where she among other Para-powered kids call home. Sam has paranormal powers- she can read minds and is "rented" out by the head honchos of this facility to the rich for their own personal gains. She is happy there, taken well care of, but is she really? Turning eighteen she is ready to go off to college, one where she can grown even more with her artistic talents, but will she be given the promised dream from the people who are supposed to take care of her?

Drake is every girl's dream guy who surfs the waves along with being that tall, ripped and handsome fellow a girl cannot help to fall in love with. He too has para-powers, but has eluded being noticed for a while now. Suddenly on the day that could change everything for him, he is kidnapped. He is held captive at Rent- A -Kid and his mind reaches out to Sam. Through telepathy the two get to know each other and find out life for them has just dramatically changed...for the worst or better is the question.

No matter, the two unite and give Rent- A -Kid the trouble that's been a long time coming...

Forbidden Fire-

Inside Forbidden Fire, you get to spend the continuation of this story connecting more with the characters, rooting for the good guys, being in suspense right along with them, and trying to figure it all out- of which you cannot. There are no predictions with this one. The storyline is great- correction- amazing, and you just cannot figure out what will happen next! Frustrating I know, but that's a positive complaint. This book draws you in just as much as the first book and keeps you hanging on by a thread (or letter) until you turn to that last page and read that last word.

You can read my full review- note, there will be a few spoilers if you do, having not read the first book. Click HERE to read my review.

Forbidden Life-

An amazing conclusion, you won't be disappointed.

This is the longest read of the series, but so warranted.
As I came to the final page of this trilogy, I smiled happily in satisfaction along with the characters. I was very pleased with the ending and loved all of the in between. That is the key to any series...a great ending. I loved this one, but you will have to read to the end to find out how this tale exactly does end... remember I'm not giving no spoilers here.
Complex would be the perfect word to describe the story line. The predicament for Sam, Drake, Lucy, Luke and a few other characters- that rock, I must add- is the surrounding outline of this very well told tale. I loved the variation on telling the story( third person, first person), and loved the imaginative world surrounding it all created by this wonderful, imaginative author, Kimberly Kinrade.
I love twists and love constant action and adventure in my books and this book brought it. Excitement and captivation kept me turning the pages-love that even more- and once again, I was reading this story as fast as my eyes and mind could comprehend to absorb and enjoy it all. A brilliantly well told story with a great ending.
To read my review of this click HERE or read below.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review in return, in which I gave my whole hearted honest review. This was an amazing trilogy and I highly recommend this for your next read. This offered combined set with bonuses is a great deal that you should definitely take advantage of.

As I came to the final page of this trilogy, I smiled happily in satisfaction along with it's characters. I was very pleased with the ending and loved all of the in between. That is the key to any series…a great ending. I loved this one, but you will have to read to the end to find out how this tale exactly does end…I am giving no spoilers here.

Story sum up:

Drake has disappeared, having lost his powers and Sam is left alone to give birth and deal with life- well not entirely, she does have friends. Lucy and Luke (the twins) have teamed up with IPI to take down the head haunch of the Rent a kid facility, Steele, going to another location to rescue the younger paranormal’s.

Simmons the lady in charge of IPI, wants to take Steele down (rent a kid creator) and with the help of Lucy and Luke she hopes to accomplish just that. A solider of hers, Hunter joins the mix. Of course a romance comes about between the two as well as a lot of growing up for Lucy. Amazing things surface in this third installment that is unexpected, very imaginative, but fits right in with the tale.

I hate spoilers, but still want to clue readers in on how amazing a book is, especially one that deserves such the praise. You will not be disappointed with Forbidden Life and from my interpretation; I believe this isn’t the end of this paranormal realm created by Kimberly Kinrade, of which I am very pleased to know. I look forward to reading the next series in the works and have now become a lifelong fan of the author.

As I was given a free copy of this book for my honest review in return, I have done exactly as such. This is my honest review of the book, without any spoilers of course. :0)

Want to Increase your Book Sales? How to use Goodreads to get Readers to Discover your Book...

Every author- Indie or Traditional- want to see their book sales increase. I'm mean who doesn't? None of us would really sit there and say "No...I'm ok with my sales..."  Nope! Not even the top bestselling authors would turn down any tips to get their books to sell even more. Well, maybe not J.K. Rowling...she just might be the exception- I mean come on, who hasn't heard of Harry Potter?

So how do you increase your book sales?

Well, The Writer's Market (I just love this site) has an article that can tell you just that. Robert Lee Brewer said these four essential things will put you in the right direction.

1.Write a great book -Well, that's a given. You cannot sell something without something, right? Need a book to sell a book, correct? So write your book. Write a great book. "A great book will hook readers from the opening page. A great book will keep readers excited all the way to the finish. A great book will make readers feel that they’ve got to share this book with anyone and everyone they can."

2.Publish your book- Self- publish or start submitting to publishers- Writer's Market can help you with that too.
Slammed
3.Share your book- Doesn't mean just give it to anyone. You'll want to share it with others that will impact your sales and Goodreads is a great way to do just this. After all this is what Goodreads says about itself-"Goodreads is the largest site for readers and book recommendations in the world. We have more than 12,000,000 members who have added more than 410,000,000 books to their shelves."  And using this site helped author Colleen Hoover get her book- Slammed-out there to readers. Today her book is currently ranking at #813 in the paid Amazon Kindle store. Paper back- #2,630. Not to shabby, I would say. How did she do it? How did Goodreads help her? She gave away her book. By  running a pair of Goodreads giveaways (only cost is to mail out your book-cannot do ebooks) she was able to put her book in the hands of readers looking for the type of Genre her book falls into and then with the reviews they left and thank to Mavens, over time, her book reached more readers and sold more copies. "Mavens- are the people who, once they discover something they love, just can't resist evangelizing about it."

4.Get involved- "No one has the time to communicate with everyone all the time. Believe me, I’ve tried. But everyone has the ability to pick and choose other writers, readers, and publishing professionals with whom to build connections."  You have to ask questions, offer advice, pitch guest posts, participate in giveaways (blog hops, Book tours) and even review other author's books helps too. Definitely be a giver, takers never really get far...

So write your greatest story, put it out there, promote, give, help and most of all good luck!

Forbidden Fire (Forbidden #2)

Review of Forbidden Fire- Book #2 of the Forbidden Trilogy

It is well appreciated when a sequel is even better than the first book. That is a must  that is demanded by us readers and Forbidden Fire gave me exactly that- it was amazing! The story of Sam and Drake continues with new characters and more twists that makes this story a suck- you- in- wanna- know- what- happens- next- now- kind of amazing!

Frustrating I know, but that's a postive complaint. This book draws you in just as much as the first book and keeps you hanging on by a thread (or letter) until you turn to that last page and read that last word.

Another Bazillion star review for author Kimberly Kinrade! Now a little what I liked about the storyline and the wow factors that I liked (without spoilers of course).

Sam- who is still pregnant with her super para-power kid with Drake, is now rid of the Rent-a-Kind facility and trying to help free the other kids still there. At the same time she is still trying to elude the bad guys who are trying to get them both back. She is also torn over what she can do with her para-powers (mind control) along with another side effect thanks to the Rent-a –kid jerks (trying not to spoil there).

With the help of old friends of Drake's and reconnecting with the wonderful twins- Lucy and Luke, they work towards figuring this all out and getting their fellow para-buddies freed too from theRent- a–kid. I have to say Lucy draws forward in this story and is one tough chica!

Beware of a Mr. Black and the Seeker. Again…there are twists and you’re gonna love this book! I cannot wait to dive into the last book of this amazing trilogy- Forbidden Life.

Stay tuned for that review in which I can at least predict this- another Bazillion star review!

"GPS with Benefits is a hilarious tale about a man who is shocked to learn that his GPS system has a mind of its own when he test drives a new car. There are some funny moments in this story that will make it a delight to many readers, can't wait to see the short film. If you're looking for something new and different, this is it. "

Be willing to learn. I once read that it takes about 1,000 hours to become competent at any skill, about 5,000 hours to master any skill and between 25,000 and 35,000 hours to become world class. Having a great mentor and being focused greatly speeds up this process. - I read that too Vanessa! This is great advice...

Yes. As I write in English, French and Dutch, I needed a name that was easy to pronounce in any of those languages and my real name - which is Dutch - is impossible to pronounce in EVERY language.

Mostly from the comfort of my own home, but I also write from cozy places such as bars, parks, airports and hotels.

14. What do you wear when you write?

Dresses, because that's the only thing I wear.

I have a Turkish Van cat named after the Mamoru Oshii film ‘Avalon’. He has had a special appearance in A GOOD MAN and also 'acts' in the movies that were based on my books.

16. Favorite food?

 Anything extremely spicy.

17. If you were deserted on an island, who are 3 famous people you would want with you?

Can I exchange those 3 famous people for my boyfriend and my cat? -You sure can Vanessa, how sweet is that!
18. Of your characters, which one would you say is most like you and why?

Originally, Céline from A GOOD MAN because of her independence and love of culture and languages. But now that I have fallen in love, I realize that I have a lot of Emma in me as well.

19. What made you want to be a writer?

Seeing Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying" on stage in London. I was in my early twenties back then. It took me a few years though to gain confidence and to start reacting upon that desire.

20. Any weird talent?
I have a talent for scaring people.- Awesome!

21. A favorite quote?

"Wish more. Dream bigger. Love louder.” - love that!

22. What is the one thing you never go without?

 My cat.

23. Your biggest influence?

 Movies.

24. Favorite TV show?

I'm currently addicted to "Dexter" and “Carnivale”.

25. A great blog you would like to recommend for others to discover?

Guest post by Author Shari Guess- Once Upon a Baby- A tale of Adoption

Once Upon A Baby- Tale of Adoption Blog Tour Stop

Welcome and thank you for stopping by! I would like to introduce to you Author Shari Guess and  her wonderful book Once Upon a Baby: A tale of Adoption. Stay tuned for my review of her book, hop on over to my Book Review page. Read below to learn the story about adopting her special bundle of joy and the inspiration to her book...

A Baby On Short Notice

Thinking back over my adoption always has me remembering the roller-coaster of many different emotions surrounding the big event. There was the waiting and wondering about the usual things any expectant couple would think about: would it be a boy or a girl? Would the baby be happy or sad? Would the child grow up to love or despise us through no fault of our own? The leap into parenthood always brings so much excitement, and in my case, paranoia!

Then there are things that adoptive couples think about; When will we be chosen? What will we say to the birthmother? How do we discuss adoption with our family and with our child? What can we do to help them know they are loved? How will I bond with this child? What about those unplanned moments regarding a new little life?

To put it mildly, I am a planner. When we adopted I had changed 5 diapers in my life-and put 3 of them on backwards! I had no experience with children and here I was about to dive in head first. If that wasn’t enough, we received ‘the call’ on Wednesday, were meeting with our birth mother on Friday and bringing a soon-to-be-born child home on Wednesday!

There was no time to ‘know’ much of my birthmother, or her family, or really to even prepare! Thankfully, we had registered early on in the process, so we immediately went into ‘auto-pilot’, throwing essentials into our shopping cart when the glorious news came. Looking back, it was all somewhat of a dream! There were gifts and showers and vacation days and new things to learn-quickly! Most women have 9 months for this sort of thing….I had 8 days!

Is there anything I could tell hopeful adoptive parents who might find themselves in our situation one fine day? About the most I can muster is to hang on for the ride! It will be one of the wildest and most worthwhile journeys of your life. Sleep while you can and work on that bucket list while you wait. After that little bundle-of-joy comes into your life it will never be the same! It’s a great experience but you won’t sleep much and you really can’t plan for it. You find out very quickly that you must become super flexible and just have to take one day at a time! Before long you truly won’t remember what your life was like before children came into it and you will be joining the ranks of parents around the world that all look at each other, sometimes like deer –in-the-headlights, silently thinking ‘I know….’!

5 Things to Stop Doing ( if you want to really finish your writing)

Solid advice...what do you think?

Five things to stop doing if you wanna finish writing that book...

1. Nix the excuses.

"We get it, life is busy and writing is hard work sometimes. Still, excuses never changed anything, never inspired anybody, and never made any dreams a reality. Goals like writing a novel don’t die on their own. We suffocate them with our excuses."

2. Stop trying.

Y"our novel needs less “trying” and more “doing” from you. Like Yoda said, Do or do not. There is no try."

3. Stop the Inner Critic’s crazy rants.

"Shut it down. Duct tape its mouth. Stand on its neck. Whatever you do, don’t let the Inner Critic make you doubt yourself. There’s no reason to. This is open range and there are no rules, no right and wrong. You can do Whatever. You. Want."

4. Don’t overdose on caffeine.

"Seriously. I’m sorry, but it has to be said. Call it tough love if you want, but more writers go stark raving mad in espresso-fueled rages than any other artists (with the exception of polka musicians, for obvious reasons).
Trust me on this. You don’t want your neighbors finding you crawling through their pet door at 3am in search of more coffee because you ran out at your house two hours earlier. Not that that’s happened to me. I’ve just heard stories."

5. Stop thinking it should be easier.

"That’s like hoping gravity will get less gravity … er … ish. Less gravity like. OK, poor choice of words. You know what I mean. Bottom line: writing is what it is. Sometimes it’s easier than at other times. Expect it to be work and you’ll be thrilled when it doesn’t feel that way."
